Accommodations in Island of Formentera

Formentera is the smallest and southernmost island of the Illes Pitiüses group (which includes Ibiza and Formentera) and belongs to the Balearic Islands autonomous community (Spain).
The island was reachable by ship only from Ibiza, making it the quieter of the two islands but in recent years regular lines from the Spanish mainland have increased the amount of tourism.
It is known for its many pristine beaches and the fact that nude sunbathing is allowed on most of its beaches.
North of Formentera is the small island of Espalmador (Illa de s'Empalmador). Espalmador is separated from Formentera by a shallow sandbar, and during low tide, it is possible for one to wade between the two islands.
This area is a popular stopping point for those in yachts heading between Ibiza and Formentera.
Among the most beautiful beaches of Formentera include: The beaches of llletes, located at the very north of the island and the nearest island of Espalmador (150 m scarce), are the most visited and frequented by tourists. Its peculiarity is that in some ways is a strip of sand a few tens of meters to the sea on both sides which in turn can be calm on one side and rough on the other.
You can access this area with any vehicle, on foot or by bike, but part of the area is accessible only by foot, on uneven ground. The area is one of the most comprehensive llletas Leisure: water sports, restaurants, beach bars, hammocks, umbrellas, facilities for bathers.
There is also a service of the maritime route that links this area with the port of La Sabina and the island of Espalmador. Migjorn, one of the largest island, its surface of sand covers most of the south coast, from La Mola in Es Cap de Barbaria.
Due to its length and position is one of the least visited beaches on the island. Cala Sahona, a small beach, but also one of the most beautiful.
Plenty of restaurants and kiosks where you can admire the nearby Ibiza.
Easy reach of the coast of Punta Pedrera and the beautiful cliffs of Punta Rasa, which can be accessed easily on foot.
Llevant, located on the northern tip of the island, in the area of the east, as its name. It is a beach of great extension and is the area closest to llletas, so it is quite crowded. Espalmador, 150 yards separate the little island of Formentera from that of Espalmador.
This island of a few square kilometers can be reached by boat (there are links from the port of Formentera) or swimming.
The most famous beach of the island is the beach of S'Alga, a real natural harbor.
The vigilance tower (Torre de Sa Guardiola), which is situated at the highest point, is a natural park rich in fauna and flora.
